year 3 Curriculum
Please download our termly curriculum documents here for more information about what we will are learning and to see examples of our work.
Outdoor PE: Tuesday
Indoor PE: Wednesday
Our P.E. slots will be both indoors and outdoors. We will be having indoor P.E. on a Tuesday and Wednesday afternoon. The children do need to bring their P.E kit into school and will need to bring this in for every lesson. If your child is unable to remove their own earrings then they should be removed in the morning before school or plasters will need to be sent in with your child so that they can cover their earrings before PE. Children with long hair will need a hair tie for P.E.
Thursday 10.30pm - 12.00pm
Forest school is on a Thursday morning. Children must come in wearing their uniform but must bring spare clothes with them which include a long sleeve top and long bottoms such as leggings or tracksuit bottoms. They must also wear suitable shoes or wellies.
The children will be given homework each week on a Friday to be completed by Wednesday. The homework will usually consist of a Maths task, English task, Spellings and Times Tables. Occasionally the children may be asked to find out information for a Science or History topic. It is very important that children complete homework tasks and please try to develop their independence with this. If your child finds any particular task really challenging and you have had to give a lot of support, please send a message on DOJO and we will be happy to support.
School Trips 2021/2022
Year 3: Iron Age Settlement Museum
During November, Year 3 uncovered archaeological evidence about Iron Age settlements near Stockport! The class went in the school minibus to Mellor, which is near Marple, to see the findings discovered by archaeologists 20 years ago. The children found evidence of Iron Age and Roman pottery, as well as a full replica Stone Age roundhouse settlement! The children really enjoyed themselves and loved going somewhere new.
I hope this information is useful and if you have any questions please do not hesitate to ask or send a message on Dojo.
