On Monday 16th March 2019, the Girls football team went all the way to Bradford to compete in the North Region Finals. Not only were they representing Whitehill but also Stockport. After some very fierce football, the girls made it through to the finals. Both teams were equally strong and determined - taking it to a penalty shootout. Unfortunately, it didn’t go our way this time.
Being so close to Wembley, the girls were understandably disappointed, but the spectacular achievement they made should not be understated. The girls came second out of the whole North of England! Top 4 out of the 50 clubs represented nationally - that’s over 400 school teams!
The girls did themselves, the school and Stockport proud. They once again showed great team work and respect for all others. Many of the teams who were knocked out continued to support our girls because of how the girls had conducted themselves in all their matches.
Well done girls, you should be so proud of your achievements.
