Spring 1: Premier League Primary Stars Tournament at The Etihad Stadium

On Friday 3rd February, a group of Year 6 boys went to represent Whitehill at The Etihad Stadium to take part in a football tournament.

We won two of our matches, drew one and lost one. We scored four and only conceded one goal! As a result of our hard-work and resilience, we came second - by one point.

On Friday 7th October, our Year 4 football team took part in an 8-a-side tournament at Manchester City's Etihad Campus. We played 5 thrilling games against challenging opposition. The team showed excellent team-spirit even when the results weren't going our way. They represented Whitehill in best way possible.

On Friday 23rd September, our Year 3 football team took part in a six-a-side tournament at Manchester City's Etihad Campus.  We played four energetic and action-packed games, scored some excellent goals and showed a tremendous attitude and team-spirit throughout.

On Wednesday 4th December, our Y3/4 football team took part in a football cluster competition at St Joseph's.  It was a great afternoon and the boys enjoyed playing against their friends from other local schools and football clubs.  Well done everyone!

On Monday 16th March 2019, the Girls football team went all the way to Bradford to compete in the North Region Finals. Not only were they representing Whitehill but also Stockport. After some very fierce football, the girls made it through to the finals. Both teams were equally strong and determined - taking it to a penalty shootout. Unfortunately, it didn’t go our way this time.
Being so close to Wembley, the girls were understandably disappointed, but the spectacular achievement they made should not be understated. The girls came second out of the whole North of England! Top 4 out of the 50 clubs represented nationally - that’s over 400 school teams!
The girls did themselves, the school and Stockport proud. They once again showed great team work and respect for all others. Many of the teams who were knocked out continued to support our girls because of how the girls had conducted themselves in all their matches.
Well done girls, you should be so proud of your achievements.

On the 8th March 2019, our Y5 football team went to Manchester City to play in a small tournament against some other schools from Greater Manchester.  The children had a wonderful time and reached the quarter finals.  Well done!!

The girls showed an amazing team performance and reached it to the finals and won! They won all 6 matches. We won one of the matches 8-0! I would like to congratulate the girls on winning the tournament but it doesn't stop there.
