We will be having 3 x 40 minute weekly PE lessons in the Autumn Term so could the children have a PE kit in school all week. Indoor PE will be on Monday and Wednesday afternoon and outdoor PE will be on Tuesday afternoon. Children will need appropriate kit (NAMED) consisting of; pumps, shorts and a T-shirt. Track bottoms and a fleece top are encouraged throughout the winter months.
Please click on the link above to find some important information to outline routines and expectations for the year ahead.
The children will be given homework each week on a Friday to be returned by the Wednesday of the following week. The homework will usually consist of either a Maths or English task, spellings and a question generated by one of the children. Occasionally the children maybe asked to find out information for a Science or History topic. It is very important that children complete homework tasks and please try to develop their independence with this. If your child finds any particular task really challenging and you have had to give a lot of support, please write a comment on the sheet/page.
I will also be asking the children to think of a suitable question for an additional homework task and will choose one each week. I hope this will generate a real thirst for them to find out more about the world in which they live in.
Questions chosen so far:
We will hear the children read as often as possible each week. Any help from home with the children’s reading would be appreciated. Many of the books have a comprehension worksheet, which the children will be asked to complete on finishing their book. It is very important that the children have their reading book in school everyday. Please note: We do not have a designated "Changing Book Day". The children can change their school reading book once an adult has signed their reading record to show that the book has been completed.
